Imagine this: You are driving past a billboard selling golf clubs, you wave your smartphone and you’re done. Your computer will order, pay and arrange for shipping in mere seconds. We are not there yet but we will be some time in the future. Payment technology is like any other. It is evolving and converging and as much as sometimes we would like for it to stand still it doesn’t. What is the benefit of upgrading You can check the compliance date for your terminal on our countdown here. It is for these reasons that we recommend you lease your eftpos terminal so you are entitled to most upgrades free of charge. If you are not sure whether your terminal needs an upgrade give us a call on 0800 484 238. |

As you may or may not be aware Viaduct continues to give a percentage of our eftpos leasing revenue to charity either directly or through eftpos support. The staff have decided we should do more for Haiti as the devastation and the issues continue to grow. We have started a fund with $500 and we will add $5 for every ten rolls of paper we sell till the end of February. So buy your consumables through us and you will be helping World Vision and the great work they are doing. World Vision is now collecting funds as the international relief organisation mobilises its response to the powerful 7.3 magnitude earthquake in Haiti. Latest reports from World Vision staff in Haiti suggest the capital Port-Au-Prince has been devastated and that the need will be great. World Vision staff member Crystal Penner in Haiti said: “Many people are without shelter and thus water.” “There are goods prepositioned in various locations across the country,” explained Crystal. “The challenge will be accessing those supplies and providing swift transport of the supplies to those in need, particularly since the airport has been damaged. World Vision Haiti is quite experienced in emergency response. It is a country vulnerable to hurricanes and flooding and so has conducted several responses.”

To help avoid catastrophic climate change NZ needs to Sign On to a 40 per cent by 2020 emissions reduction target at the UN climate talks in Copenhagen in December. Climate scientists are saying we only have about 10 years left to rapidly reduce greenhouse emissions before we reach the point of irreparable damage. Encourage John Key to step up and take responsibility to change what is happening to our planet, before it is too late! Get behind it! SIGN ON!!

One of our staff members chose the wrong week to fund-raise for the Heart Stopper Challenge. In the worst week for weather Sanita jumped in a freezing cold spa to raise money for her netball team and the Heart Foundation. It must of worked for her as he has been selected to represent Wellington at the Nationals. Congrats from the team at Viaduct. A team of 4 or 5 get together, choose a dress theme (the whackier the better) & plunge into an icy pool for 5 minutes. The InspirationTwelve babies are born every week with a heart defect in New Zealand. For many of these children medical intervention is their only chance of survival. This year alone, 450 open heart surgeries will be conducted on Kiwi children. During surgery the child is cooled down in icy slush to slow the heart. That’s the inspiration for this unique event. In the latest move to ensure the PAYMARK network is the ready for the influx of visitors for the World Cup and is up-to-date with all the latest security requirements today is the last day for deployment of version 5.1 software. This applies to all new sites and new installations of the 5.1 terminals. These terminals include the Keycorp K23 on the paymark network Verifone OMNI 3750 There are some exceptions to the rule and dispensations can be granted on an individual basis. It is important that you get good advice especially if you are looking at second hand units. You can check software versions on the Paymark website here. You can also download this document from PAYMARK. approved-terminals. Give us a call on 0800 484 238 if you have any questions. Version 5.1 software will be removed from the network in 1st June 2011 although because of the issues with regards to some chipcard acceptance we are looking to upgrade those customers on 5.1 as soon as possible. |

Viaduct is always worked hard to provide the best payment service we can to our customers and to ensure that when our customers or prospective customers come to us that they get the right advice and the best deal. That is why is is another important step for us that we have signed a partnership agreement with Paymark. Paymark is the network that carries the majority of eftpos transactions in New Zealand and the majority of the eftpos terminals connect to them. They have some exciting products and we look forward to bringing these to our customers. Check out more on the partner programme here and details on the types of products that Paymark does here. This is what Paymark has said.

Welcome back to 2009. Thanks to all the staff who helped keep all our customers up and running through the Christmas period. Paymark did a great of of keeping everyone informed on eftpos data although the news wasn’t always great. This makes 2009 a very interesting year. We have Hypercoms split from Provenco, version six up and running, and more upgrades on the Eftpos New Zealand network all on top of the “credit crunch” We have our plans in place including some great offers for the market and regional offices so you should see more of the Viaduct logo in Auckland and Christchurch within the next six months. We also got sign off in the Paymark partner programme. This is great recognition for the work we have done in the market and the approach our staff have to customer service. We have seen a big increase in the demand for the currency conversion software as the cruise ship season is well and truly upon us. As always give us a call on 0800 484 238 if you have any questions or want to discuss all things eftpos. Happy New Year. |
