Ingenico Launches New Eftpos terminal

The largest eftpos terminal manufacturer, Ingenico has re-entered the New Zealand market through terminal wholesaler Skyzer. They have just released the i5100 after certification from the paymark network.

Viaduct will carry the terminal as it offers a number of benefits to our merchants. Aside from being a tidy hand over solution with a very good card swipe, the terminal has an IP capable port enabling it to work over your broadband connection once certified by the network.

Guano Challenges Yellow Pages Model

Six out of ten purchases start with the buyer turning to the internet to do some research. And the founders of a new online directory, guano, wanted to give small to medium businesses the chance to shine despite the fact they often lack a huge marketing budget.

Founder Mark Unwin says other online directories give businesses greater prominence based on how much money they are willing to spend. Instead, www.guano.co.nz gives prominence based on customer feedback - the better the feedback the greater the prominence. Continue reading ‘Guano Challenges Yellow Pages Model’

We have our first winner …

Over the next six months we are giving away six eftpos terminals and two trips for two to Rarotonga to our Viaduct eftpos customers. We had our first draw last Monday and Alec Mann (Managing Director) from the Fitness Factory won himself a free eftpos terminal.

Alec wrote

“well firstly can I say, thank you and your company very much..it is fantastic winning a draw..even better as I was unaware that I was in one. I’d like to add prior to winning the draw I was so impressed with the service that you personally provided and everyone else I dealt with-in your company I phoned your manager to let him know how pleased I was to have done business with you. Regardless of winning the draw which has been a great bonus.. I would happily and with out reservation recommend and myself would not hesitate to do business with you and your company again.
As a company ourselves we strive to make the customer feel special and you certainly made me feel like that. so please do not hesitate to give out my details if you ever require a reference of your company’s service and value
Once again many thanks”

Why the eftpos warning?

Why are we warning customers re this upgrade. Keith Newman wrote an article in the June 2007 Telecommunications Review about the changes coming to the eftpos network. This article concerns the upgrade to IP connectivity and the end of the line for the eftpos dial up network. Our point is this, within this change is a real benefit to merchants in New Zealand who have a dedicated phone line for their eftpos, currently approx 12000, and those that would like faster transactions.

However not all terminals currently been sold in the New Zealand market have this capability. In fact it is only the verifone and cadmus kit that have an ethernet port ready for the upgrade. Continue reading ‘Why the eftpos warning?’
